Dr. Michael A. Rivera is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon specializing in the surgical and non-operative management of neck and back conditions. His practice ranges from minimally invasive decompression for herniated discs and stenosis to complex fusion and deformity correction for scoliosis and degenerative spine disease.
Dr. Rivera's philosophy is that surgery is one tool among many. He pursues non-operative care first whenever appropriate, reserving surgical intervention for cases where it offers the clearest, most durable path to relief and function. When surgery is the right answer, he favors the least invasive approach that safely achieves the goal.
Each patient receives a plan tailored to their symptoms, imaging, and personal goals — with clear explanation at every step so they can make confident, informed decisions.
