About Dr. David Crawford
Dr. Crawford serves as the Medical Director of the JIS Research Institute as well as the assistant fellowship director for adult reconstruction at JIS Orthopedics. He joined JIS Orthopedics in 2016.
Dr. Crawford's clinical focus centers on adult hip and knee reconstruction, specializing in minimally invasive anterior hip replacement, partial knee replacement, and hip resurfacing. He is also skilled in hip preservation, including arthroscopic surgery of the hip.
Dr. Crawford is certified in the Oxford partial knee replacement. His approach is grounded in clear communication and shared decision-making, so patients always know what to expect before, during, and after surgery.
Before joining JIS, Dr. Crawford served as an orthopedic surgeon in the United States Army. He was the Orthopedic Clinic Chief at Ft. Campbell, KY, and served as orthopedic surgeon to the Army's Elite 5th Special Forces Group and the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR). He was deployed to Afghanistan in 2013, providing orthopedic care for U.S. troops and allies in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
